What is Musical Theatre Project?
Our Musical Theatre Project is for Level 8 & 9 Musical Theatre to help us through Lockdown 3.0! You are going to learn all about SIX The Musical in a Masterclass with Lauren Byrne, she is then going to spend some time teaching you and offering her expertise. You will also get the chance to ask Lauren questions that you have always wanted to ask!
All Level 8 & 9 students get the chance to attend 2 masterclasses:
Dancer/Singer Masterclass
On Monday 15th February – 8.20pm-9.20pm in the Black Studio (On Zoom)
Actor/Singer Masterclass
On Friday 19th February – 7.50pm-8.50pm in the Black Studio (On Zoom)
You are actively encouraged and welcomed to join both masterclasses.
What Happens Next?
In the 5 weeks following the Masterclasses Sophie & Elise will continue to work with you on SIX the musical implementing all the tips and advice Lauren has given you. On the final day of the project before Easter, Lauren will pop back in to watch (or depending on schedules we will send her videos) and she will give us some feedback on how you all got on!
Who is Lauren Byrne?
Lauren has most recently been seen in SIX on it’s UK Tour playing Jane Seymour, belting the incredible song Heart of Stone 8 times a week. Prior to this you may have seen Lauren in Sunny Afternoon where she understudied the leading female role of Rasa. Or maybe you saw her in Beautiful the Carole King Musical.
Lauren and her band Remember Monday were also selected by the one and only Jennifer Hudson on The Voice.
You may have seen Lauren before on our masterclass in Lockdown 1.0 and since then she has continued to do bits and pieces with us, she was one of our festival judges and also has done some masterclasses with our 6th Form. We are very excited that Lauren is now returning to work with our Part Time School classes.
Extra Details
The Project is all taking place in your regular Musical Theatre sessions on Mondays/Fridays (depending on the level you are in), there is no additional cost ontop of your regular bills. You do not need to sign up to anything extra.
Please note that we may have to change the performer or show at anytime due to availability or matters outwith our control.
