Arts1 was founded in 2006 by Principal Rebecca Carrington and Creative Director James Grimsey. Our award winning school is proud to be founded in Milton Keynes and our wonderful team of specialist teachers and coaches nurture the talents of over 500 young people and adults each week.

We have an incredible range of part-time classes for children, young people and adults that take place on weekdays after school and at the weekend.

Sophie Watts

Sophie trained at The London College of Music graduating in 2013 with a First Class Honors degree in Musical Theatre.

Before attending University Sophie worked as a chaperone and an assistant choreographer and also has several years experience working as a cheer captain and assistant coach with MKCA. Upon graduating University Sophie worked as an actor with Voices of the Holocaust, a theatre in education company, in which she ran drama and history workshops whilst performing in Fragile Fire.

Achievements

In the last two years she has also gained invaluable experience working as an after-school dance teacher and teaching curriculum dance in various schools around Milton Keynes. She is delighted to be back to her roots working with a passionate and experienced team, and hopes to inspire her students the way she was inspired when she attending Arts1. Sophie is a PGCE qualified teacher and an expert in creative education. Sophie is also a certified acrobats arts instructor.
