Arts1 was founded in 2006 by Principal Rebecca Carrington and Creative Director James Grimsey. Our award winning school is proud to be founded in Milton Keynes and our wonderful team of specialist teachers and coaches nurture the talents of over 500 young people and adults each week.


We have an incredible range of part-time classes for children, young people and adults that take place on weekdays after school and at the weekend.

Sam Grassick

Sam graduated from Bird College with a Ba Honours Degree in Dance and Theatre Performance. Following her training at Bird College Sam went on to perform professionally for several years before starting her teaching career. Sam is a fully qualified ISTD dance teacher in Modern and Tap.




Sam attended Bird College from 2006 -2009 achieving a Ba Honours in Dance and Theatre Performance. After leaving Bird College Sam went on to dance professionally in the UK and internationally. Sam spent many years at sea completing many contracts in different shows on cruise ships. Other professional credits include: pantomime, TV commercials, music videos and UK touring show.

Sam is dedicated to teaching dance and specialises in Tap and Modern. Sam is a member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and holds a DDE qualification in both Tap and Modern.

Sam believes that dance brings joy to children and adults, dance helps teach a child to focus, be creative and have discipline.
