At Half Term in February Contemporary Levels 1 & 2 will begin working on a Site Specific dance piece, titled ‘In Our Homes’. The project will be a collaborative process between students and Chris, our Contemporary teacher, where they will devise themes, choreography and explore filming opportunities and locations within their house.
This project will allow students to put into practice their technique and skills they have been developing, and apply these to choreography. It will also allow the classes to work together in smaller groups to use their creative brains during lockdown, to deal with the challenges, and positives of dancing in their homes.
When the pieces are ready students will be guided through filming these at home and then they will send these to us and the Arts1 team will edit together a video showing the performance. This will be available for everyone to watch on social media.
All of the work will take place within the lessons on a Saturday, with filming taking place out with the sessions.
