One-to-one Singing coaching

Arts1 provides one-to-one singing coaching for students who want to develop in vocal technique and performance. Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual student, however as a guide you will work with your teacher to develop vocal technique and excercises and learn how to apply these to performance material. One-to-one sessions are essential for students looking to pursue a professional career in Singing and Musical Theatre. From the beginning of 2011, singing students will be entered for the brand new Guildford School of Acting Musical Theatre Singing exams, accredited by the University of Surrey, please contact us for more details.

James Grimsey Arts1 Vocal coach Estill certified master teacher

Vocal Coach/Musical Director - James Grimsey

James is a freelance voice tutor specialising in musical theatre, A 1st class honours graduate from The University of Manchester, James trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.  He is attached to several institutions around the U.K providing voice training and musical direction and currently works as Musical Director at the prestigious Tring Park School. Alongside his work for Arts1 and private tuition,  James is also a guest tutor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and is one of the UK’s few qualified Certified Master Teachers in Estill Voice Training.

James has students currently attending Arts Educational school, Bird College, Italia Conti, Mountview Academy and Guildford School of Acting. His professional clients credits include West-End, UK and International tours and Television.

 

Ben Wiles Arts1 vocal coach singing teacher milton keynes

Vocal Coach/Musical Director - Ben Wiles

Ben Wiles is a musical theatre specialist who has extensive experience of working in a theatre environment as a musical director, composer, orchestrator, chorus master, vocal coach and pianist.

Over the past five years, he has developed a strong profile in education, teaching singing, music and musical theatre at college and university level, while leading workshops and musically directing productions for organisations such as the Derngate and Royal Youth Theatre in Northampton and Bedfordshire Youth Opera.  He currently teaches on the BA Performing Arts course at North Hertfordshire College in Hitchin.

He has worked on dozens of productions as MD and chorus master ranging from The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni to Titanic and Les Misèrables. Ben also worked on the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

 

Dan Smith Arts1 Vocal Coach, singing teacher, milton keynes

Vocal Coach/Musical Director - Dan Smith

Dan trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama one of the UK's leading voice institutions. Sine graduating Dan has worked as a singer in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular and as a Musical Director on several productions for Shakespeare 4 Kidz. Dan is also extensively involved with Bedfordsdhire youth Opera.

Vocal Coach/Performance Coach - Louisa Shaw

Louisa has 20 years experience in the West-End her credits include Jennyanydots (Cats), Fantine (Les Miserables), Ensemble (Mary Poppins), Emma Fairfax (Doctor Dolittle), Hortense (Martin Guerre) As well as performing in The Royal Variety Performance. Louisa has extensive recording experience including Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, original cast recordings of Martin Guerre, Doctor Dolittle, Napoleon and Mary Poppins. Louisa is one of the UK's top performance coaches and is head of the Performance Foundation Course at the prestigious Tring Park School.
